Tyranny is often equated with a dictatorial police state, but there are other faces of tyranny that have intruded into American lives. One face is involuntary and unconstitutional federal income tax – demanded by an ever growing, power grabbing unconstitutional centralized federal government. Another face of tyranny is corporate motivated and government controlled propaganda perpetuated by our corporate owned and government controlled media. We have lost our Free Press, a business so crucial to independence and self government that it is the only business protected by the Constitution.
The most effective, albeit insidious way, tyranny has come to America is through a public education system. We have had several generations of educators that have been teaching dogma foreign to the intent and vision of our forefathers. The most notable perpetuates the myth that America is a ‘democracy’. A very good video explaining that America is a REPUBLIC and is NOT a democracy is found on the Spotsylvania Republic Committee website at http://www.spotsygop.com (video can also be seen at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DioQooFIcgE&feature=player_embedded )
This public education system has taught our children that a belief in God has no place in government or in schools, and that our Constitution is outdated, fundamentally flawed and insignificant, if a teacher elects to teach the Constitution at all.
The whole purpose of the Constitution is to enumerate specific powers to be delegated to the federal government; all other rights to be left in the hands of the People and their local and state governments. The intent of the Constitution is simply explained in the Declaration of Independence. Rights of the People come from God, and the People grants power to the government. Thomas Jefferson explained tyranny very well when he said, “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”
Many Americans fear their government. We are afraid to speak (afraid we are being eavesdropped and spied upon); we’re afraid to congregate (do we need a permit, or "Hey, are they really shooting rubber bullets and tear gas at us?); we’re afraid of the IRS and its 400 pages of regulations directed against the American citizen.
Tyranny has come to America through the ignorance of the People that began with a national education system designed to undermine the principles of a self governing republic culminating in the removal of the Ten Commandments and Bibles from our schools and a federal income tax system that is robbing Americans of their ability to own property and retain the fruits of their labor.
